Drinking

I want to say right out that I think its OK to drink alcohol as a Christian. Not that I drink much. People like to condemn for drinking. It sure would make Church more interesting.

NO I AM NOT DRINKING NOW. Im at work for crying out loud.

I sure hope it's ok, or I'm in big trouble.

In fact, I started a small Wednesday night beer club with some friends of mine (Christians, too). We get together, sample some different brews, and enjoy a relaxed time of fellowship with one another. Occasionally, a high-quality cigar makes an appearance. If you're ever in NJ, you're invited.

Hey I thinik that should be a new Bible study..."Beer and the Bible"...BYOB. Couldn't you just see that in the church bulletin?

My mom comes from the school of thought that demonizes "booze."

I come from the Ben Franklin school of thought.. "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to prosper."

We were short a couple for our monthly wine tasting and guess who we invited, the pastor and his wife.
It was very enjoyable.

I don't think it's wrong to drink occasionly, as long as you drink reasonably (No drinking and driving). The bible didn't say you shall not drink. I think (I'm not sure about it) Jesus even drank wine (maybe even at the wedding when he tried water into wine). Also, Paul said something like drink a little for your stomach's sake. Later in life, it has been proven that a little wine is healthy for people.

The only thing I think is wrong with drinking, is if people have an addiction to it. Not only would it be an idol, the person would be a drunkard. In the bible it says that drunkards shall not inherent the kingdom of heaven. I believe drunkard are people who can't stop drinking, and all they do is drink non-stop.

note: Alcoholic's who are recovery are NOT drunkards.
